I also think that dishonesty comes from a deceptively honest place. The way my crazy brain works, if you feel the need to be dishonest about something, that desire is probably coming from a very genuine place, even if that place is never acknowledged by other people or even yourself.
To provide a simplistic example, if I was five and broke one of my mother's statuettes, I would be dishonest about it because I would be understandably afraid of getting in trouble for it. It's the same for teenagers, and even adults. They usually want something by which dishonesty is a means to an end, or are dishonest in an effort to protect themselves. This is sounding kind of like what I said about personas, and acting a certain way on purpose can be considered a form of dishonesty.
To me it shows how some people in this world creat a persona or a mask of who they really are. Wounderful job Shade, i love the range of lightness and darkness in this, also the dark background emphisizes the white mask beautifuly.
